Craft Table

About Us

Originally setup in 1981, the playgroup has been run by volunteers supporting the community. The group provides a safe place for kids to grow, explore and learn new skills. It also provides important peer support to new parents over a cuppa. Everyone is welcome, there no need to book, please do drop in and join us (Thursday mornings in the Brockham village hall).

We have a very supportive, relaxed welcoming group including parents, grand parents and childminders, who you can meet and chat to over a complimentary tea / coffee / biscuit. For the kids, we have lots of wonderful toys and at the end of the session, we sing nursery rhymes and games. Here is a list of all the wonderful things we have at playgroup:

  • Each week we setup a different craft such as painting, glueing, chalks, drawing, stickers.
  • The kids enjoy the messy table with play sand, earth, leaves, or hay.
  • We have a playdough table with many assorted stencils and various wooden puzzles.
  • We have a set of baby mats and lots of sensory baby toys for the kids to explore and learn to sit / crawl on.
  • The slide, cushion mats, soft play mirrors and 4 way tunnel are popular with the toddlers.
  • For quiet moments, there is reading corner with books for all pre-school ages and comfy cushions to read them on.
  • There is every type of toy car i can think of and we have a car racing track / 3D car garage on which to play them on.
  • We have a wooden brio train track attached to a board with plenty of trains.
  • The wooden play kitchen is always popular with a massive box of play food, till, trolley, basket, crockery and kitchen utensils.
  • We have many ride-ons such as cars, a motorbike, scuttlebug. We arrange the chairs so that these toys are kept away from the others to avoid anyone getting runover!
  • We have a set of small figurines from most of the popular tv shows such as Paw patrol, Disney Frozen, Moon and me, Octanaughts, My little pony, Bing and Cocomelon.
  • We have our own wendy house to play make-believe games and mega-blocks to build towers.
